1.雅思小作文的结构该如何写？
基本上，任何一篇图表作文的写作都应该包含以下3个方面：
- What is the graph? （开头段）
- What are its most important features?（第二段）
- What kind of significant details you can find? （第三段和第四段）
在写作雅思小作文开头段时，要强调两点：
- 一定不能照抄题干中的句子或主要的短语
- 仅需写一句话即可。这句话主要通过改写题干中的句子，来回答What is the graph？这个问题。
我们可以采用如下句型：

上述句型几乎可以用于所有图表类型作文的开头写作。
3. 如何利用上述句型写雅思小作文开头？
利用上述句型写雅思小作文开头段的关键在于找准“核心名词”。
所谓核心名词，是指应该放在 the number of 或 the figures for 或 the percentage of 等短语后面的名词。
只要找准了“核心名词”，剩下的工作就是如何“给这个核心名词添加修饰语”了。
例如，在我之前发布的雅思小作文例文中，有一个开头段如下：
The line graph compares the percentage of people aged 65 or more in three countries over a period of 100 years.
上述开头段中：
“The line graph compares the percentage of” 是我们前面提到的句型。
核心名词是“people”，而people的修饰语来自于题干信息，具体包含：
- aged 65 or more（年龄段）
- in three countries （哪些国家）
- over a period of 100 years（时间段）

根据前面提到的句型结构，我们可以按照如下方式改写上面的句子：
STEP 1: 根据句型改写

于是我们就有了开头段的前半部分：The pie charts compare the percentage of
STEP 2：寻找置于the percentage of 后面的“核心名词”
STEP 3: 为核心名词添加修饰语在本题中，核心名词可以是spending 的近义词：expenditure
题干中关于expenditure的修饰语有：
- annual
- by a particular UK school
- in 1981, 1991 and 2001
我们对上述题干中的修饰语作如改写：
- annual： each year
- by a particular UK school： of a school in the UK
- in 1981, 1991 and 2001: in three different years over a 20-year period
本篇小作文的开头段最终撰写如下：
